  PS Waverley is the last seagoing passenger-carrying paddle steamer in the world. Built in , she sailed from Craigendoran on the Firth of Clyde to Arrochar on Loch Long until   The Balmoral, which is a member of Britain's National Historic Fleet, offers day trips and evening cruises around the Somerset coast and also sails to Lundy Island in the Bristol Channel.

This brought Balmoral’s Clyde season to an abrupt but exciting end. Let’s hope she is fit for duty next year and once again navigates the Clyde for our pleasure and entertainment. The MV Balmoral has a truly fascinating history. Originally built in as flagship of the Southampton Red Funnel Fleet, and mostly used around the picturesque Isle of Wight. In , the MV Balmoral was transferred to the Bristol Channel and became flagship of . Balmoral is now based on the Bristol Channel and carries the livery of P&A Campbell’s White Funnel Steamers. The sailing on 27th June was sponsored by Red Funnel Ferries, the ship’s original owners.
